Pastor’s Letter – December 1

G’day Church,

This Sunday is the third instalment in our short series on The Holy Spirit. It’s been really timely to reflect on and celebrate the Holy Spirit’s work in us on the back of our time considering God’s purposes for us as his church, which are so closely bound up in the Holy Spirit’s presence and work in our midst. And it wasn’t that long ago that we were making our way through Romans with all that teaches us about the Spirit too. We’ve got Q&A this Sunday, so please come with your questions, or feel free to email them to brighton@trinity.church so we can give them some consideration ahead of time.

Last week we were also encouraged by the update on the work that God is doing in Adelaide through the Trinity Network. Some of us who have joined in recent years may not have been aware that Brighton was itself a church plant 18 years ago, or that a community was planted out of Brighton to Trinity Church Woodcroft in 2019. It was great to be reminded that anything good that is going on in the Trinity Network is by God’s grace and for his glory. There is much to pray about as we long to see many biblically faithful, gospel proclaiming churches in our city and state. For those who might have missed it, you can use this link to listen to Paul’s update on a number of exciting prospects for ongoing church planting in the Network. Please pray for God to be powerfully at work, by his Spirit, as the good news of his Son is proclaimed and trusted. You might also like to subscribe to the Trinity Network monthly prayer points here.

Finally, let’s keep looking for opportunities to invite friends to join us for a pre-Christmas celebration on December 15. It’s coming together as a great morning for people of all ages to enjoy together with a fun and relaxed lunch with family-friendly activities.

I look forward to seeing you on Sunday.

Simon
