Hi All,
I’ve enjoyed being back at work this week and excited for another year of life together as a church. There’s lots to be looking foward to, and as always, it’s all about our mission to make and grow disciples of Jesus.
Simon wrote last week about some of our serving needs heading into the new year. I thought I’d take the opportunity to point out that all the different ways people serve our church ultimately go back to this great mission. Whether your helping setup chairs before people arrive, helping with coffee to help give people a great welcome when they come along, controlling our projector slides during a service, leading us in prayer, helping out at Trinity kids, hosting a small group during the week, serving by providing practical help to others, or serving in all sorts of other informal ways – all of it helps us make and grow disciples! All serving is valuable as the body of Christ works together to build itself up in love (Ephesians 4).
Thanks especially to those who serve our church really wholeheartedly and with great servant hearts – and there are many! Even the little practical things like having our services app on your phone, having notifications on, and keeping careful track of when you’re rostered onto things on a Sunday makes such a difference in helping things run well. (We haven’t provided heaps of support on how to do that lately so if you don’t know what I’m talking about but would love to have that app setup, do reach out for assistace – of course we get that technology’s not for everyone either!)
If you’d like to talk about getting invovled in serving, please do chat or email Simon or I anytime. We’re also looking forward to commissioning and praying for those who serve in different ministry areas as we begin another year, over coming Sundays.
Matt
